Adult Programs at the JCC

Fitness Center

 

 

An assortment of excercise equipment is available at the JCC Fitness Center: treadmills, eliptical machine, stationary bikes, weight benches, free weights, and more. We even have a sauna that you can relax in before or after your workout! There are also Powerade and Coca Cola Machines located at the center. Members can visit our Fitness Center anytime during business hours. Must be 18 years or older.

 

Growing Strong & Osteo Excercise Class

Growing strong is a 14-week program designed to address specific age related problems, health wellness and vibrant aging.  This program offers strength training for men and women who want to increase their strength, energy and balance and to look and feel better.  Strength training has been shown to reduce the signs and symptoms of Arthritis, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Heart Disease, and Back Pain.

Next class date: April 13, 2010 . Classes will be held Tuesdays 10:00-11:00 am. Classes are held in the gymnasium of the Jewish Community Center, and are taught by trained instructor, Jean Pierce.  The Growing Strong and Osteo start at the same time.  The Growing Strong program is for an hour and a half and the Osteo Program is for the first hour with no floor exercises during this hour.

Growing Strong - $30.00 for members
                                   $40.00 for nonmembers
         Osteo - $20.00 for members
                     $30.00 for nonmembers

**You may join the program at any time...fee will be adjusted**

*You may bring in your own hand and leg weights if you have them*

Adult Pickup Basketball

Sundays from 10 am to noon, and Tuesdays 8-10 p.m. The cost is FREE to JCC members, and $3.00 per player for nonmembers.

The 92nd Street Y Program is a live satellite broadcast from the 92nd St Y in New York City. This program is brought to you by The Belle and Joseph Cominsky Fund, and is open to the community. There is no charge for this event.
